"Build an AI tool" sounds intimidating. Most people assume it requires deep technical expertise, a co-founder who can code, and venture capital.
None of that was true for me.
The Tool I Built
An AI prompt template library specifically for Vietnamese users of CoolMe AI and other image tools.
Product: A curated database of 500+ prompts organized by use case (TikTok, Shopee product photos, personal portraits, seasonal content, etc.) with examples of results.
Delivery: Simple website + email delivery. No complex technology.
The Business Insight
I noticed that the biggest barrier for Vietnamese AI image tool users wasn't access to the tools — it was knowing what to type in the prompt box.
"I have CoolMe AI but I don't know how to get good results" is a real pain. I had been solving it informally for months by sharing prompts in Facebook groups. People kept asking for more.
Building Without Code
The tool I built was not technically complex:
- Database: Airtable (free plan)
- Frontend: Carrd website ($19/year)
- Payment: Stripe
- Delivery: Mailchimp automated delivery
Total technical "complexity" = connecting these services together. No coding required.
The Launch Strategy
Phase 1: Content marketing
For 8 weeks before launch, I shared free prompts on TikTok. Each post showed:
- The prompt
- The result from CoolMe AI
- "For more prompts like this, subscribe to my list"
Built 4,200 email subscribers before launch day.
Phase 2: Launch
Email blast to list: "The prompt library is live — 500 prompts, $25 one-time payment."
Day 1: 87 sales = $2,175
